Adoption and the Gospel
Those of us who have come to Christ, who have given Him ourselves (no matter our fears or struggles) have had His promise of becoming His child. "Whoever did receive Him, He gave them the right to become children of God... (Gospel of John)" We were adopted. Jesus even loved us before we were adopted! Jesus even loved us before our new birth! This is why the invitation of His adoption is extended to the world. In a real sense, God wants all to become His children.
Whenever that was for me, I was too young to even know, but at some point (maybe as an infant or toddler) I gave my heart to Jesus. Maybe it was at conception or in the womb. ---I can't remember one day of my entire life where I have not loved Jesus. I might not have understood everything- as I am continaully maturing in study daily, but I really only need understand one thing. Abba, Daddy, you are mine and I am yours. I love you and I never want to be without You. You created me and I am yours. That's all.
As Jesus wants the lost to become His children, as His will is to have all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4), so we want you to become our child...
Dear Orphan(s)---The road is messy. The trauma is real. The pain or torture you have experienced is no light matter. The abandonment, rejection, starvation, abuse, and control others have manipulated over you is no laughing matter, nor are you looked down upon because you are different. Your difference is your special calling from Christ. Nor are you weak because you have suffered. You are not weak or unwanted because you were given up or forgotten by human beings. You are dearly loved and treasured by Your Heavenly Father. In fact, the despised, rejected, broken, orphaned, prisoners, and abandoned are precious in His eyes. What a God we serve! What a God whose nature is love! Whose being is love!
Psalm 68:5-6 New Living Translation (NLT)
5 Father to the fatherless, defender of widows—
this is God, whose dwelling is holy.
6 God places the lonely in families;
he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy.
this is God, whose dwelling is holy.
6 God places the lonely in families;
he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy.
Jesus suffered long for us. He suffered for us when we were unwanted and broken and dead in our sins. He bled and died to save the lost. We don't even come close to His sacrifice in obtaining you, not at all, but we have a tiny taste of His suffering. We have a taste of the path and road ahead. In the end, I know there will be great and exceeding joy. Bri
Psalm 146:9 New Living Translation (NLT)
9 The Lord protects the foreigners among us.
He cares for the orphans and widows,
but he frustrates the plans of the wicked.
He cares for the orphans and widows,
but he frustrates the plans of the wicked.
Job 29:12 English Standard Version (ESV)
12 because I delivered the poor who cried for help,
and the fatherless who had none to help him.
and the fatherless who had none to help him.
Hebrews 12:2 New Living Translation (NLT)
2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.[a] Because of the joy[b] awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame...
